In this context, Peacehas noalternative!Dialogue shouldsupplantthreat andbellicoseposturinginspired byan external actorinEurope.Ourdestiny is in ourownonly hands.
As citizensandresidents of aneutral Country, we urgeSwisspoliticiansnot tojoin thisrace into the abyss.It is time that theyfind again the courageto take the Constitution and theTraditionof this country seriously, andnot toyield tooutside pressures.We livein Europe, wedepend on ourenvironment and thereforeshouldcontributeto the extentof our abilityto maintainPeace on ourContinent.
Switzerland joinedtheUnited Nationswiththe hope of contributingto Peacein the World.It therefore can notcondoneillegal sanctions, bothunder theUN Charterand the Rules ofthe WTO,which, it must beremembered,is headquarteredin Switzerland.
It is neitherprofitablenor honorableto joinmaneuversbased onintimidation, that lead to warandcarry the seedsof therisk of the totaldestructions of ourCountries.
